This marks the fourth edition of a book that began its journey 25 years ago — sparked by a moment of frustration during a sales training session. As John recalls, “Most of my friends and a good chunk of my family really have no idea what I do, other than travel to cool places and talk about technology.” Back then, he sat at the back of the room, loudly lamenting that the training was useless for his technical team. When challenged to do something about it, he did — and the rest, as they say, is history.

From that moment grew a multi-national business and a book that has become a cornerstone for technical sales professionals around the world. Now, thanks to three years of tireless effort and collaboration, Mastering Technical Sales has been translated into Mandarin and published in China — believed to be the first-ever technical sales book to do so.

The Chinese edition carries the title The Art of Presales, a reflection of the book’s precise and culturally attuned translation. This achievement was made possible through the combined efforts of Artech House, Up2Speed, and Cheng Dong (C.D.) Zhao — John’s translator and, in his words, “one of the most determined people I have ever met.”
