A joint statement from The Old Dovorian Club and the Dover College Association

We are pleased to share an important update regarding the future of the Old Dovorian and Dover College Association communities.

Below, you will find a joint statement from The Old Dovorian Club and the Dover College Association announcing a renewed chapter of collaboration between the two organisations.

This strengthened partnership reflects our shared commitment to supporting Dover College and to enriching the experience of all who belong to these two valued communities. Together, we are laying the foundations for closer cooperation, greater alignment, and new opportunities that honour our heritage while looking confidently to the future.

Please take a moment to read the full announcement below, which outlines the vision and intentions behind this exciting development.

“Dover College is fortunate to be served by two important and complementary communities: the Old Dovorian Club and the Dover College Association.

The Old Dovorian Club is the historic community for Old Dovorians. Run by Old Dovorians, it exists to bring Old Dovorians together, to sustain friendships formed through the College and to maintain the traditions, events, sporting links, publications, and worldwide connections of the Old Dovorian community. Alongside this, the Old Dovorian Trust, established by Old Dovorians, supports educational purposes connected with Dover College through charitable giving and grant-making.

The Dover College Association is the College’s own community network. It exists to help people stay in touch with the life of the school today and with one another and includes Old Dovorians, former and current staff, parents, former parents, and friends of Dover College. Through the Association, the College is able to communicate news, organise reunions and events, support mentoring and careers connections, maintain accurate contact records and ensure that engagement with the wider Dover College community is managed in line with current school governance expectations.

These two communities are not alternatives to one another. They have unique strengths and purposes, and they work best in partnership. The Old Dovorian Club carries forward the identity, heritage and fellowship of Old Dovorians across generations and across the world. The Dover College Association provides a broader, school-connected way for the wider Dover College family to remain involved with the College and with one another.

Together, they help ensure that the spirit of Dover College endures: rooted in the loyalty and traditions of Old Dovorians and strengthened by an open, welcoming network for all those who value the life of the College”.
