Celebrating an Old Dovorian Triumph at the Malta Seniors Cricket Festival
The Malta Seniors Cricket Festival has once again proven to be a celebration of sport, fellowship, and shared passion. This year, the Festival introduced an engaging new avatar quiz, created by the European Cricket Legends, which quickly captured the imagination of participants from across the cricketing community.
We are delighted to share that Prof. John Hearn (Staff 70–74)—currently in Malta representing the Essex Eagles, one of two Essex CCC Seniors teams competing this year—has emerged as the quiz champion. John’s sharp eye and deep appreciation for the game helped him correctly identify the inspiration behind the Festival’s new avatar. He also shared his personal highest cricket score, adding a wonderful layer of storytelling to the experience.
In a heartfelt ceremony held yesterday, John was presented with his Cricket Festival fleece by Frankie Spiteri, founder and Tournament Director of the European Cricket Legends. The moment captured the essence of what makes this festival so special: community, celebration, and the joy of shared history.
John’s achievement is more than a personal milestone—it reflects the vibrant, intergenerational spirit of cricket and the connections that continue to unite us. We extend our warmest congratulations to John for this well-deserved recognition.
Stay tuned for more updates from the Malta Seniors Cricket Festival, and continue celebrating the game that brings us all together.
