During the Memorial service Nick Lockhart gave a eulogy (The full Eulogy can be accessed via this LINK) that captured the moment, and the mood within the Schools Chapel, with appropriate antidotes of Rupert’s life and legacy, which like all good eulogy’s covered the spectrum for laughter to sadness.
After the memorial service many stayed in the school chapel to see Rupert’s plaque which had been recently fixed to the wall to the right of the vestiary within the chapel, also a buffet lunch was served in the 12th century school Refectory where many reminisced of there encounters with Rupert and talked to Rupert’s family with laughter and joy, which is exactly what Rupert would have wanted.
The Old Dovorian Cricket Club will be holding the inaugural “GRH Silver Plate Memorial “ cricket match on Sunday the 17th July at Folkestone Cricket Club in his memory, whilst Duncan Ellerington (Staff 02 – 18 and Vice President of the Old Dovorian Club) will be running the London Marathon in memory of Rupert, so please follow this LINK to donate what ever you can to his just giving page.
