It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Mr Jack Ind, who died in November 2025 at the age of 90.

Mr Ind served as Headmaster of Dover College from September 1981 until July 1991, and he is warmly remembered by colleagues, pupils, and friends for his leadership and dedication during that decade.

Educated at Marlborough College before reading Classics at Oxford University, Mr Ind brought a lifelong love of learning to his teaching and headship. He joined Dover College from Tonbridge School in 1981, and during his tenure he welcomed many distinguished members of staff, including Rupert Hill, whom he had previously taught. Mr Ind retired from the College in the summer of 1991, leaving behind a legacy of scholarship and care.

Our heartfelt condolences are extended to his wife Elizabeth and to all his family at this time of loss. The Dover College community honours his memory with gratitude and respect.
