Old Dovorian Independent Groups
Over time, Old Dovorians have established independent groups that cater to specific interests of ODs and support activities deemed beneficial or worthy by both the ODs and the Club.
The oldest of these is the Old Dovorian Lodge, consecrated in 1937, followed by the Old Dovorian Golf Society (ODGS), founded in 1962. The Old Dovorian Cricket Club, one of the original independent groups, was established alongside the Old Dovorian Rugby and Hockey Clubs at the turn of the 20th century.
Unfortunately, after World War II, the Rugby and Cricket Clubs could not be revived and were subsequently integrated into the Old Dovorian Club.
The OD Hockey Club remained an independent entity until the 1960s, at which point it was integrated into the Old Dovorian Club. It wasn’t until 2024 that the OD Club contributed to the reestablishment of the Old Dovorian Cricket Club as an independent group, a logical step considering cricket had become the sole sport officially played by the Old Dovorians as a club.
