The Dover College War Memorial and Endowment Fund
The Dover College War Memorial and Endowment Fund, established by an indenture on 30th September 1926, is a charitable entity.
The committee of the Dover College War Memorial and Endowment Fund is composed of four members from the Old Dovorian Club, each serving a four-year term. These members are eligible for re-election at the Old Dovorian Club’s AGM for successive terms.
Registered as a subsidiary charity under Dover College, it bears the Charity Commission reference 307856-0004 and the Inland Revenue reference X24872.
Dover College is the beneficiary of the entire gross income from the trust fund. This income can be allocated by the Committee for any specific legally charitable purpose that benefits Dover College, or it can be contributed to the general purposes of the College.
The Charity recently funded the acquisition of a statue commemorating WW1 Captain Billie Neville of the College. Unveiled on Armistice Day 2018 by Michael Goodridge OBE, an Old Dovorian and the then Chairman of Governors, the statue stands in front of School House. Additionally, the Charity has supported the Dover College archive project, now located in the Gate House within the Close, one of the three original structures dating back to the 12th Century.
