UK Old Dovorian Club Social Groups
Since its founding in 1887, the Old Dovorian Club has maintained strong ties with its alumni and former staff. The Club’s history is marked by the formation of various sporting and social groups that meet informally to cultivate new friendships and revive old ones.
As a result, the Club has been instrumental in preserving connections with Old Dovorians throughout the United Kingdom, making it easier for those who might find it difficult to travel to London or Dover to stay engaged.
The creation of local Old Dovorian Club social groups is a well-established tradition, highlighted by the formation of groups such as the West Country Group, the Cranleigh Group, and the original London Group, with the Cranleigh Group standing the test of time.
These social groups are independently managed by local Old Dovorians and operate as separate entities within the broader Old Dovorian Club community. Their objectives include organizing informal meetings with fellow alumni, acting as a hub for Old Dovorians who are either visiting or relocating to the area, and fostering connections through the common bond of having attended Dover College.
