Old Dovorian support for Dover College

Dover College has always been more than the pupils and staff who happen to be here at any one time. It is a continuing community, held together by memory, affection, service and a shared belief in the School.  In recent months, that sense of wider support has been especially evident in the strengthening relationship between the School, the Old Dovorian Trust and the Old Dovorian Club.

We are very grateful to the Old Dovorian Trust, working alongside the Old Dovorian Club, for the practical and generous support they are giving to Dover College at an important point in the School’s development.

The Trust has generously made £250,000 available to the College as part of its practical support for the School.  This is a significant expression of confidence in Dover College and forms part of the wider work being undertaken by Governors and senior leaders to strengthen the School, invest in the pupil experience and continue building for the future.

For generations, Old Dovorians have remained closely connected to the College.  Their support is a living commitment to the pupils here now and to those who will follow.

We are also grateful to the Old Dovorian Club for the renewed spirit of partnership, friendship and practical support which has developed over recent months.  The relationship between the School, the Trust and the Club matters deeply.  It reminds us that Dover College is more than a school in one moment of time; it is a community shaped by those who came before, strengthened by those who serve it now and held in trust for future generations.

At a time when all independent schools are navigating a more demanding national context, this support is a heartening sign of confidence in Dover College’s future.  It shows the wider Dovorian family working together with goodwill, clarity and purpose, with the interests of pupils and the long-term strength of the School at the centre of every decision.

For Old Dovorians considering how they might support the College in the years ahead, whether through time, advocacy, gifts or legacy giving, this is a powerful reminder of the difference the OD community can make.  The School is deeply grateful for that support, and for the confidence it represents in the future of Dover College.
